Contract Safety integration Engineer - Gaydon - £25-38/hr (D.O.E)
A Vehicle Safety Integration Engineer is required for this blue chip OEM for an initial 12 month contract. You will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating all safety activity on the vehicle i.e. restraints and airbags. Rate of pay depends on experience and expertise possessed as a relevant graduate to an experienced professional will be considered for the role.
What you'll do:
As Safety Integration Engineer you will be responsible for the following activity on seat belts and airbags:
- Delivering the Vehicle Safety attributes.
- Ensuring the vehicle meets the internal targets and external legal requirements.
- Developing, planning and delivering the design verification plan including legal witness tests.
- Target setting and cascading to other departments vehicle safety requirements.
- Input into vehicle design to meet the safety requirements.
- Design and implementation of component tests.
- Analysis of CAE and test data (sensor traces and high-speed film).
- Reporting to management.
- Working with fitters and mechanics.
What you'll need
- Higher education (HNC, HND, degree) or 8 years direct experience in lieu of qualification
- Some experience of vehicle safety, restraints, seat belts, airbags, crash test or impact test
- Eligible to work in UK for minimum 12 months
- Full UK driving licence
