Our client provides tailored solutions to problems encountered by OEMs and their tiered suppliers throughout the component supply chain.

A new ongoing contract opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Specialist, experienced in fault diagnosis, rectification and testing of electrical faults of sophisticated vehicles.

Requirements include:

- Qualified to City and Guilds Level 2 or NVQ 2 Certification as a minimum
- Experienced in fault diagnosis, rectification and testing of electrical faults of sophisticated vehicles.
- Experienced in working with the following diagnostics equipment (e.g. Terrain, CIRRUS, CYCLONE, CAN, LIN, MOST, VCATS, iView).
- Understanding of wiring diagrams for vehicle electrical systems and the ability to understand and interpret technical service manuals (GTR etc).
- Knowledge of quality / repair data capture systems such as FLAGS or equivalent.
- Experienced in working with new launch models / programmes.
- Ability to strip and rebuild common interior / exterior trim components (e.g. trims, lamps etc).

In addition, the role will include but will not be limited to the following attributes:

- Understanding of the principles of OEM Plant Work.
- Awareness of safe working practices and basic (car care) behaviours on / off site.
- Understanding of the required standards of professionalism required (appearance, housekeeping and communication).
- Ability to read and understand Inspection Test Plans / WES.
- Ability to use standard inspection tools (micrometer, digital Calliper vernier etc).
- Ability to conduct basic electrical testing (e.g. resistance test, current, power).
- Ability to carry out basic reworking (e.g. drilling, filing, thread cutting, tapping).
- Able to record accurately inspection data results (tick boxes, score sheets etc).
- Ability to comply with Health, Safety and Environment Work Instructions / Risk Assessments etc.
- Be experienced in mechanical and trim fitting on various vehicles.
- Have ability to carry out thorough inspection of vehicles as per defined preparation programme.
- Capture of standard specifications, optional extras, inoperative functionality and identification of damaged or previously repaired.
- Be experienced in working on retrofit / campaigns.
