Contract ILS & Reliability Engineer

Our client is a global supplier of sophisticated human machine interface, lighting, data and power solutions and electronics systems to the Aerospace and Military Land System markets. The organisation continues to capitalise on its success and has a requirement to expand its capability within the ILS and Reliability Engineering discipline. The position would involve providing ILS and reliability expertise in support of electrical/electronic product and systems development.
The Role: To provide a robust and expert ILS and LSA capability that meets the needs of the company and its customers, provide a robust and expert RandM capability that meets the needs of the company and its customers, proactively influence the development of new products to ensure that ILS objectives are set and that ILS considerations remain high on the Design Engineers agenda and support the production of bid proposals by providing ILS proposals and costing project related ILS activity. You will conduct Parts Count and Stress Analysis of electronic circuits, Failure Modes, Effects and Critical Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and other reliability assessment techniques, support Reliability / Maintenance Analysis of products throughout the design lifecycle and provide guidance for design for reliability / maintainability within the design team.
You will need broad ILS and reliability engineering experience ideally gained in service and within the defence [military vehicles] industry, be able to train / coach others in the requirements of the above and have experience of working to MIL-STDs and DEF-STANs. You must be HND or Degree qualified in an appropriate technical discipline, have excellent communication, written and verbal, and IT skills and be well organised, robust, self motivated and a team player.
