Our client is recognised as a leading manufacturer of industrial diesel engines. The business has seen significant growth over the past few years and is looking to strengthen its Quality team with the recruitment of a replacement Quality Engineer. Reporting directly to the Quality Supervisor, the role is working as part of the wider Quality Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to assist the Quality Department in achieving the key objective: to develop into the market leader in quality by becoming the customer top choice for quality.
As Quality Engineer you will be responsible for leading timely root cause corrective actions - E/I/PCA (Emergency, Interim and Permanent Corrective Action) implementation for customer quality issues and internally generated defects by working with operations, design and engineering teams. You will provide internal Continuous Improvement support and ownership together with quality improvement project leadership. You will also provide 6 Sigma/Rapid Improvement Workshop Subject Matter Expert support and undertake customer contact and relationship development in partnership with product support. You will be responsible for supplier contact and relationship development in partnership with the Process Control Engineering teams, data gathering and manipulation for reporting, Major Issue management and ownership and Warranty investigations.
You must be educated to HNC level in an Engineering Qualification or above (or equivalent experience for those applying at entry level but willing to undertake study at a later date), have good verbal, influencing and numerical skills, competent PC skills i.e. use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, E-mail (Lotus Notes) and other corporate based systems.
