User Interface Technical Specialist - HMI Leader

Based on a very attractive University campus in Coventry, this Centre of Excellence for vehicle development has earned an excellent reputation in the Automotive Industry. Established in 2005 it has ambitious plans for further growth with a focus on cutting edge research and development. As a result a very exciting opportunity for a User Interface Technical Specialist to lead HMI development has been created.
Based in Coventry, this role will appeal to candidates located in Crewe, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Warwick, Leamington, London, Norwich, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Holland.
- Lead HMI development activities
- Define technical requirements for all aspects of HMI and User Interface
- Develop HMI screen shots including some industrial design
- Develop HMI simulation package
- Support research activities for future HMI improvement
- Work with Infotainment and HMI team in India, necessitating regular overseas travel
Candidate core requirements will include: - Degree or similar qualification
- A minimum of 5 years automotive industry experience
- Demonstrate depth of knowledge in HMI and User Interface
- Have a sound understanding of good design principles for vehicle systems user-controls
- Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard
- Sound experience in developing HMI applications using Graphical tools such as Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop
- Sound experience in developing HMI simulation using JAVA and Visual C++ script
- Knowledge of Embedded Wizard or CGI HMI tool will be an advantage
