We are recruiting for a Engineering Services Buyer on a ongoing contract based in Peterborough.

The Engineering Services Buyer will incorporate global and European market trends, business unit needs, and a strong knowledge of the supply base to develop and recommend a European strategy to the Engineering Services Category Manager. The ideal applicant will recommend suppliers for BU projects, conduct requests for proposal, and negotiate contracts. The outcome will be reduced costs and a high quality, optimised supply base.

You will join a global team of 5 people, the key activities of the role are:
* Provide leadership for sourcing for Engineering Services Category
* Understand and Interface with BU partners.
* Understand the global and regional Engineering Services market
* Develop regional sourcing strategy
* Develop strong source plan coverage in Europe
* Conduct RFPs as appropriate
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED-
Essential:
* Experience is preferred in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, and/or engineering.
* The position requires an undergraduate degree from a college or university or equivalent experience.
* A minimum of four years of buying related experience.
* Strong Negotiator, able to interpret, analyze and negotiate contractual cost elements
* Strategic, analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill.
* Effective communicator, in written and oral form. Fluent in the English and able to effectively communicate with people across the business where English is the second language
* Well-developed interpersonal skills are required in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions.
* Functional leadership. Capable of leading teams, suppliers and customers to effective solutions.

Desirable:
* Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
* Second European language would be advantageous
