A CAD Modelling Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in the West Midlands.

Description
Position Description:
CAD Modelling Engineer to support Advanced Body and Trim Concept Design. Coordination of concept demonstrator model manufacture with Supplier, Rapid Prototype, Toolroom and Trim Shop support as required.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Conceptual design ability CAD modelling, Packaging and Detailing of Body and Trim components using Catia V5 and Teamcentre (including Digital Buck). Understanding of design constraints for key materials (metals & plastics) and common manufacturing processes (moulding, stamping, casting).

Skills Preferred:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to enable communication across all levels within the company, and with external partners. Use of Microsoft office tools, especially Excel, Project and PowerPoint.

Details
Experience Required:
At least 5 years experience of engineering design of automotive interior and exterior components, either at OEM or first tier supplier level. Experience of concept design, and proven record of designing production feasible components.

Experience Preferred:
Understanding of Quality tools and resources, such as FMEA, Design Verification Methods, warranty data and JD Powers.

Education Required:
(HNC/D or equivalent automotive experience in the above fields.) OEM recognised training in Catia V5 and Teamcentre.

Education Preferred:
Degree in an engineering related discipline
