A Project Engineer Powertrain Test Delivery Support is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Description
Position Description:
Lead the Test Delivery Support Team to ensure all required powertrain testing is conducted in a timely and efficient manner. The team consists of powertrain engineers required to support all aspects of PT testing, rig preparation and facility interface parts procurement. This is a combined management and 'hands on' trouble shooting role intended to keep planned testing on schedule on either in house or external test facilities. It covers all PT commodities and so will involve fault-finding and issue resolution of EMS, Calibration, CAN, ECU, TCU, IP interface issues. Responsibility also covers the planning, procurement, and delivery of engine certification testing.

Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, self-motivated and a passion for the role. A good all round engineering and product knowledge with proven leadership people management skills. A good knowledge of powertrain products, engine test facilities, process and associated Health and Safety requirements. An intermediate knowledge level in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and planning tools. Knowledge of powertrain and vehicle hardware and software interface. Previous experience of leading a team and the implementation of lean tools and processes.

Skills Preferred:
A clean full driving licence.

Experience Required:
Previous experience of leading a diverse group of skilled team members. Identify, influence, standardise and deliver process improvement for team and customer interface. Work with other areas within powertrain and PD to achieve planned test and build activities. To provide effective communication to PT management and vehicle teams. To lead specification of processes and components to enable the powertrain to function on the test facility. Track and lead planning activity for the team. To lead implementation of efficiency and process improvements. To ensure that Health & Safety practices are adhered to; including delivery of risk and COSHH assessments.

Education Required:
Degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Electronic Engineering discipline.
