The Company is a leading clean power systems company. Their proprietary clean fuel and clean power technologies provide solutions to the difficult environmental and energy supply challenges being faced by governments and industry.

They are currently seeking to appoint an Assembly Technician who will support Project Managers in assembling systems through machining, developing and assembling various mechanical sub-systems or sub -assembly`s

Key Accountabilities (task, duties, responsibilities)

  • Work from engineering drawings and requests to supply parts of a suitable quality to satisfy projects with regard to the manufacture of trial and conceptual development components.
  • Function test, evaluate and document all component trials and developments.
  • Identify and solve mechanical/manufacturing issues in the current product range.
  • Work closely with the Research and technology and Design teams to ensure that manufactured parts are designed to minimise manufacturing and assembly time and cost.
  • Liaise with component/system assembly managers, design department, test engineers and programme managers.
  • Deliver best practice during manufacture and delivery of quality checked components, applying attention to detail and a cleanliness culture to all items.
  • Document manufacturing processes, build and component test procedures internally and also with the supply chain in support of larger scale manufacture.
  • Design and manufacture any associated tooling, jigs and fixtures as required.
  • Work within H & S guidelines.

    Essential Experience and Qualifications include:
  • Apprentice Trained (Mechanical) and City and Guilds certificated. Ideally also hold an ONC or HNC qualification
  • Experienced Toolmaker with CNC Milling as well as traditional machining and fitting skills
  • Excellent communication skills and thorough understanding of mechanical and process requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to undertake additional training as required
  • Ideally additional electrical knowledge and pipework experience would be an advantage
