Asset Engineer
Essex, England

This is a developmental role for a current or future leader in the refinery. Will provide the assets with technical expertise, and will develop and implement long term improvements may also support the asset in day-to-day activities. Provide key leadership to the assets, and to be the potential leadership backup for the Asset Leaders. This role reports to an Asset Leader. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills or show clear potential, and demonstrate strong initiative and drive for continuous improvement.
This role will take on a number of different assignments, depending on the needs of the department. Typical roles and responsibilities may include:

Provide environmental focus to the asset, helping to shift the focus of the production teams and enabling them to progress environmental issues.

Provide long term strategic plans for moving the asset to an HRO organisation. Have the ability to step back from the current issue of the day, to see the bigger picture in systems and linkages with other departments and put plans in place for continuous reliability improvement.

TAR preparation with the production teams, develop work scope, engineer straightforward projects, progress MOCs, etc.

Project development work with the projects group to develop and engineer process improvements for long term reliability issues.

Have to ability to Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis of complex issues, providing practical solutions to prevent repeat failures.
Develop process training packages for the shift teams.
Refinery experience working ideally in petrochemical environment, preferably with process or operations experience.

Degree (or equivalent) in engineering discipline.
