Principal Engineer - Chassis System Design
Norwich, Norfolk, England
£31 per hour + ?31/hr
A leading automotive company are now looking for candidates to support an Executive engineer or those engineers in an engineering management position to deliver technical solutions to project teams within the required cost, quality and time targets.
Individuals at this level would be expected to accept design ownership of individual Chassis systems and operate with a level of autonomy and accountability.
Chassis systems include :
Suspension, brakes, steering, powertrain mounting, wheels and tyres and subframe structures.
This is a CAD based role requiring the design ownership of a vehicle sub system/ support of vehicle subsystems or components within a project:
Support for BOM preparation including mass information
Concept and detailed engineering design utilising expertise internal departments and suppliers as appropriate.
Creation of 3D CAD models in CATIA V5 with supporting component drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, installation drawings and data packs that include DVP s and FMEA s to support project gateaway requirements. All to be prepared in accordance with the programme quality acceptance standards.
Support to fit and function evaluation of subsystem components.
Support to performance testing of subsystem components.
Collating of test results and concern reports.
Support to assembly line and build concern resolution.
Engineering experience : Concept design through to production release in the automotive industry
CATIA experience : >2000 hrs
PC literate (spreadsheet, workd processing, projectplanning, e-mails etc)
