Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.

Due to an increase in workload, a new 4 month contract opportunity has arisen for a Components Engineer.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer and Department Manager, the individual will be responsible for the following:

- Project Management to quality, cost and time
- Customer liaison
- Set up of test rigs
- Hydraulic and mechanical rig design and management
- Data acquisition, Signal processing, and Analysis of results
- Writing/Preparation of reports
- Preparation of quotations and pricing
- Liaison with other departments as required
- Also possible involvement with Facility Management, Structures Rig operation, Environmental testing, Ongoing marketing, QA and maintenance requirements


Promotion Prospects
Good - a possible permanent position may be available with further progress depending on performance

Ideally, candidates will already be working in Component testing, Rig test engineering and/or Project management


Essential Requirements:

- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Project management experience including man management and financial management. i.e. making promises and delivering them within constraints

Desirable Requirements:

- Chartered Mechanical Engineer
- Knowledge of:
Transducers (e.g. Displacement, Load, Accelerometers)
Data acquisition
Signal processing
Word processing
Spreadsheets
Data presentation
- Customer liaison
- Experience in presentations
- Process planning
- Quality Improvement techniques

- Must be able to handle multiple, concurrent projects
- Must be able to work on own initiative, but within a supportive team structure.
- Although not a frequent requirement, you must be prepared to work flexible hours and overtime to meet customer or programme timing requirements
