CNC Programming Engineers

Role and Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure designed parts, via model or drawing, are converted to finished components, through programming, jig & fixture design, tooling and development activities;
  • Support continuous improvement activities (quality, cost, efficiency)via improved programming and tooling methods;
  • Support all CNC programming activities, with supporting documentation, for complex 5-Axis components;
  • Support investigation and resolution of ‘Not Right First Time’ incidences;
  • Support Project Management of New Product Introduction with direct support to Tape Try Outs, First Article part production and associated detailed reports, as required.

Key Skills& Experience:

  • Degree qualified, or full Time Served Apprenticeship;
  • Considerable proven experience of 5-axis Machining Operations;
  • Considerable proven experience of 5-Axis NC Programming;
  • Strong understanding of quality based processes and standards, preferably with relevant Aerospace experience;
  • Knowledge of processes and tooling employed in machining of ‘Soft’ metal alloys;
  • Fully conversant with current Cutting Tool Philosophies and Techniques;
  • Experience in Jig/ Fixture and Tooling Design;
  • Must have knowledge and proven experience of
  • ‘Alphacam’ and ‘CATIA V5’ programming;
  • Use of ‘Vericut’ as a verification tool

Predominantly  a Day-Shift based role, although there may be occasions when alternative working hours would be required in support of specific activities.
