Water Ingress and Validation Specialist - Automotive Assembly - Oxford - £25.00 to £30.00 P/H

An Engineer is required for our automotive client who is looking to improve and analysis Water Tightness and Ingress activities within the build and development of automotive vehicles and products. With experience in vehicle build and sealing applications and products you will be responsible for the following:

Role Overview

* Investigation, analysis and validation of vehicle derivatives associated with geometric functional interfaces of assembled products.
* To systematically test new technologies to identify product defects, proposing solutions to rectify issues within the product/component area.
* Take responsibility for managing and planning project activities for new vehicle builds to assess, investigate, and implement benchmarking exercises across all build activities and new product integration.
* Establish root cause of product and/or process activities within water ingress and water tightness during all prototype build and conceptual development of new vehicles.

Key Accountabilities

* Test, Analysis and investigation of water ingress activities within new vehicle build programmes.
* Understanding of products and processes involved within the manufacture and build of new vehicles.
* Influencing Project Planning, Product Development and Defect Rectification.

Skills and Qualifications

* Technical qualifications in an Engineering related discipline.
* Good presentation skills as well as forecasting (estimating) and planning.
* Need to understand testing and development of materials and processes to understand root cause to establish and prevent water ingress issues.
* Good problem solving and analysis skills with knowledge of vehicle manufacturing processes

The contract rates and benefits for the roles are competitive with the duration being for 12 - 24 months due to the length of the project which has the possibility to be extended into 2015.
