Resident Engineer - Automotive Tier 1 - Germany

As part of its strategy of developing solutions to reduce CO2 emissions, our client has acquired an Electric Supercharger business. With this move, our client becomes the first automotive supplier to offer its customers a range of electric superchargers.
Unlike exhaust-driven turbochargers, electric superchargers are driven by an electric motor.
Lastly, when coupled with the company’s energy recovery system, electric superchargers can be used to create a cost-competitive micro-hybrid solution that can deliver fuel savings of up to 20% in the standard European driving cycle.
Resident Engineer, based closed to Stuttgart, will act as the technical interface between the project teams and the customer coordinating all activities for Electric Superchargers. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for:
• Answer technical questions of the customer on a daily basis
• Follow up prototypes
• Track and follow up Customer validation processes
• Present product modifications
• Prepare & present technical specifications to prepare new market quotes
• Worldwide coordination of technical needs for client Electric Superchargers.
Reporting to the Product Line Project Manager, you will provide support to the Sales Engineer assisting with the development of quality products that create future growth.
Degree qualified in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering, candidate will ideally be working in a similar function within the automotive industry. Previous experience of developing customer relationships in a technical environment is essential. An ability to work autonomously and a flexible approach to travel is required together with fluency in both German and English.
