Position Description:
The Suspension Structures team are responsible for the detailed design of suspension arms, knuckles, hubs and bearings for all OEM programmes. A high level CAD Engineer is required to produce detailed CAD models for these components. Mainly this involves complex castings and forgings requiring the CAD Engineer to model in both solids and surfaces. Working to the high CAD standards to ensure robust models will be key as is including all details to ensure the components can be manufactured. This role also includes release of components so an ability to produce detailed drawings through Teamcenter is also required.

Skills Required:
Proven ability to use CATIA V5 for both solid and surface modelling. Knowledge of design for castings (including hollow castings) and forgings including manufacturing requirements. Engineering Knowledge to minimise weight whilst maintaining functionality. Proven ability to produce detailed drawings. Ability to control and release components and drawings through Teamcenter.

Skills Preferred:
Ability to use CATIA CAE function. Ability to use kinematics analysis (package checks)

Experience Required:
Experience of castings and forging design/modelling. Experience of producing detailed drawings.

Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of suspension systems. Knowledge of OEM systems of benefit (Digibuck, TCE, WERS, MPNR)

Education Required:
GCSE or equivalent

Education Preferred:
Engineering Degree (preferably Automotive or Mechanical)
