A Fuel Economy / CO2 Forecasting Analyst with a background and understanding of current and future vehicle fuel economy / CO2 technologies is required for a global automotive OEM in the West Midlands.

Position Description:
The Performance Economy Driveability team is a vehicle attribute team responsible for managing the delivery of performance, Fuel economy (CO2) and driveability attributes. Fuel Economy/CO2 Forecasting Analyst responsibilities are to:

  • Fuel Economy and CO2 forecasting of individual vehicle derivatives based on agreed technology benefits, information within product assumptions and Cycle plan data for pre APC phase (currently out to 2022)
  • Fuel Economy and CO2 forecasting of competitor vehicle derivatives based on agreed technology benefits and introduction timing.
  • Maintenance and development of PED Vehicle Derivative Fuel Economy/CO2 database Quarterly release of OEM and Competitor vehicle derivative Fuel Economy and CO2 glide path reports.
  • Support the generation of presentations, evidence data, submission packs and maintain key departmental CO2 forecast reporting documentation.
  • Liaise with PED programme Leaders to ensure data alignment for advanced/delivery phases and key interfacing departments.

Skills Required:
The fuel Economy CO2 forecasting Analyst will home,

  • Manipulation and graphical presentation and an interest and willingness to develop these skills further.
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work within a team and network effectively across a wide number of departments.
  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation, initiative and resourcefulness in overcoming problems.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in database management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and future vehicle Fuel Economy/CO2 technologies.
  • An interest and awareness of OEM competitive environment, particularly in relation to the PED Attributes.

Experience Preferred:
An awareness of Product Creation Systems Oracle or Access database programming experience may be of benefit.

Education Required:
An HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or related.
