Senior Design Engineer-Commercial Vehicles-Permanent-Worcestershire

A permanent role for a Senior Design Engineer who has proven experience of 2D (3D beneficial) mechanical design on sheet metal projects throughout the lifecycle of the product. The role is a pressing need for the firm to succession plan for the future and to react to their increasing workload this year.
You must be experienced in the following:
• Proficient using 2D and 3D CAD (not essential but useful) in a low volume bespoke manufacturing environment; they use AutoCAD and Inventor
• Experience of designing bespoke commercial vehicles (recovery vehicles, cabs) from inception, through BOM and to production in a relatively short time periods
• Proven experience of designing hydraulic machinery with a hands on personailty
• HNC/HND educated
The firm is a large local and well established name; they are market leaders in the bespoke design of large specialist commercial
vehicles. The type of person that would suit this role is a grounded engineer who isn’t afraid to muck in when need be, helping out on the shopfloor or jumping under a vehicle to offer help if requested; attitude is key.
A very friendly workforce located just off the M5 and easily accessible from the Birmingham and Cheltenham areas. A genuine career opportunity as this Senior Design Engineer role will develop into management of the design studio.
The salary is based upon experience and to be discussed at submission stage; interviews to be conducted as sson as possible for a start as soon as possible.
