Design and Development Engineer - Oxfordshire - Circa£40K

A degree qualified Design and Development Engineer is required to help deliver efficient and robust components and systems for customer programs for this iconic motorsport company who are focussed on bringing its innovative flywheel energy storage to market.

Design
-Concept creation of component installations and conduct first level analysis
-Component level FMEA
-Completion of detailed component drawings for manufacturing and inspection purposes
-Supporting manufacturing supplier requirements, component inspection and assembly buildshop to deliver prototype parts/assemblies for test and development purposes
-Resolve component concerns
Development
-Engage in engineering development work, including design of experiments and test fixtures to ensure that product is functioning and meets customer requirements.
-Capture and report the results of experimental work once completed

As the Design and Development Engineer you may be required to travel to customer sites (possibly internationally located) to ensure correct implementation of product to customer's satisfaction.

-Experience in design of power-train components for automotive or rail applications useful.
-Development engineering experience at a high technology, engineering focused firm is desirable.
-3D parametric modelling and detail drafting capabilities are essential with ProE or NX or CATIA CAD package experience an advantage
-High speed, high power rotating machinery knowledge an advantage.
-Awareness of Motor drives and power electronics an advantage.
-CAN communication experience an advantage.
-Awareness of design of controls/supervisory systems an advantage. e.g. ISO9001

Minimum 2.1 Degree qualified in mechanical, electronic or mechatronic engineering or equivalent experience
