Mechanical Design Engineer - CATIA V5 - Contract - Essex

A Mechanical Design Engineer with Catia v5 experience is required to strengthen the team of this leading edge automotive engineering company based in Basildon to assist in the preparation of modular hybrid products for a number of customer applications in Europe and US through to production launch.

The successful candidate will be HNC/HND qualified with experience of CATIA v5 in powertrain, die casting and solid modelling. This role is initially a 6 month contract although an opportunity also exists to go permanent.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Mechanical drawing design/development
Preparing schematic diagrams and BOM's in liaison with Senior Engineers
Liaising with Electronics Designers to package PCB's into mechanical design

Ideally you will have a background in mechanical process engineering for manufacturing. An appreciation of mechanical design of Rotating Machines/Electric Motors would be desirable along with a basic understanding of fundamental workshop processes with hands on experience.
