Motor Development Engineer - Automotive - Warwickshire - £Neg

The principal responsibilities of the Motor Development Engineer will be to develop and validate motor control and application software for Switched Reluctance motors integrated in to technologies for a number of automotive applications.

Key responsibilities
•Motor control system development/testing.
•Define the operating range of Switched Reluctance motors
•Software testing
•Documentation

Skills/attributes
•Ability to understand ‘C’ code for embedded real-time systems
•Use of Matlab for system development
•Appreciation of low-level hardware issues
•Appreciation of control & power electronics
•Appreciation of serial communications protocols (CAN and LIN)
•Ability to work with limited supervision
•Self motivating and a flexible approach to working in small teams.
 
Qualifications/experience
•Degree level – Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
•Experience of Motor Control is preferred.
•Background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
•Wider knowledge/interest in Automotive Systems & Engineering desirable
•Appreciation of Rotating Machines/Electric Motors would be desirable
