Hybrid Engineer - Automotive - North East - upto £40K
Newcastle, Shropshire, England
A Hybrid Engineer is required for this expanding low carbon vehicle technology company to aid in driving the business forward. This is a permanent position but a contractor would be considered.
Applicants must have substantial experience in one or more of the following areas:
Battery management system (BMS) design, calibration and applications engineering
Integration of EV and HEV systems, defining sub-system components and interfaces, dealing with vehicle CAN, safety features etc. for controllers, power electronics and energy storage and management devices
Control system design and development, including strategy definition, writing and compiling of C-code and/ or the use of rapid prototyping tools for control systems
Range extender / Auxiliary Power Unit system design, control development and system optimisation
Project and people management, coupled with excellent commercial competency
Ideally the Hybrid Engineer will have knowledge/experience in
Electronics / embedded system design and validation
Battery pack design
Power electronics design
Motor design and development
Simulation of complete vehicle and sub-systems
Data collection, analysis and reporting
Customer proposal and RandD grant bid writing experience
Safety case development and processes
Robust engineering techniques and processes
