Vehicle Technician (dynamics) / Mechanic - Nuneaton - to £26000

An experienced Commercial vehicle / Military vehicle technician (HGV) is required for this growing and expanding automotive test ground based in the north Warwickshire area.

You will be responsible for preparing prototype development vehicles for test and stripping out test parts thereafter.

What you will do:

-       Installing and stripping down components eg chassis systems, brakes, seating,

-       Fabricating small fixtures / brackets

-       Modifying prototype parts to fit

-       Installing instrumentation (data loggers and transducers) from a mechanical perspective

-       Drive vehicle for final check

-       Strip down of parts after test for inspection

-       Decommission vehicle and instrumentation

Skills Required:

Please note essential requirements are non-negotiable; (if you donot have ALL the essential skills we would respectfully request you do not apply)

Essential:

-       Apprentice trained mechanic / vehicle technician with significant HGV / large vehicle / military vehicle experience

-       Qualified to City and Guilds level 2 or NVQ 2 in vehicle repair / mechanic / fitter

-       Be able to fabricate (weld/braze) at an elemental level (ie not structural, just tack), OR be able to perform simple machining eg lathe, drilling, sheetmetal fabrication

-       Full driving licence

-       Candidates from a military background ie REME are welcomed without the corresponding academic qualifications PROVIDED they have extensive vehicle repair/test experience

-       Be eligible to work in the UK indefinitely without support. Please note we cannot support tier 2 visas

-       BE AVAILABLE FOR FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW WITHIN 10 DAYS (note expenses are not paid)

Desirable

-       HGV / commercial vehicle licence

-       C&G level 3 or NVQ level 3

-       Previous automotive industry experience ie working for a consultancy / test house

Conditions:

-       Standard day shift, 5 days per week, 37/39hs per week

-       Permanent position

-       Salary from 18500 to £26000 d.o.e
