Position Description:
For the job role as a Cost Estimator we would be seeking highly motivated, financially aware Production Engineers. It is essential that individuals are experienced in high volume production, preferably within the motor industry and have an in depth knowledge of how works costs are derived from first principles. A basic understanding of activity based costing (ABC) and work study tools including motion and time movement (MTM) is highly desirable. A high level of computer literacy is required so that the individual can quickly work with the sophisticated systems that will be available to aid them.
Skills Required:
Establishing estimates for part and tooling costs for various purchased components and assemblies used on present and future vehicles
Liaising with internal cross-functional teams to ensure the company maintains its competitiveness with regard to cost, quality and value for money
Negotiating part and tooling costs with suppliers in line with best production practices and latest technologies.
Education Required:
Applicants that have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship, studied engineering to a national standard and have the relevant experience will also be considered.
Education Preferred:
An Engineering Degree or equivalent is desirable although not essential for this position.
Applicants MUST have proof of immediate and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK.
