Position Description:
Data Quality and Maintenance Engineer supporting Test Operations to ensure that the engine, transmission and emission facility is reliable and robust. To ensure the powertrain test facility is capable for test delivery and calibration teams, to ensure the teams are in control of achieving their goal. Responsible for identifying issues through data collection, analysis and comparison to specification. Defining new specifications, delivering engineering solutions to issues identified. Delivering procedures and documentation to enable prevention and enable routine continuation of maintenance activity. CONT..
To deliver robust preventative and corrective maintenance of powertrain test facilities including definition and carrying out the required TPM activity and condition monitoring.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of powertrain test facility, data quality requirements, preventative and corrective maintenance processes and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, self-motivated and a passion for the role.
A good all round engineering and product knowledge with proven task management and leadership skills.
A good knowledge of powertrain products, engine test facilities and process.
A basic/intermediate knowledge level in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and GPIRS.
Skills Preferred:
Six Sigma trained. Preventative and corrective maintenance experience. Previous experience of working in a team and the implementation of lean tools and process. A clean full driving license.
Experience Required:
Ability to identify, influence, standardise and deliver process improvement for team and customer interface. Process and procedure delivery. Ability to work with other areas within powertrain and PD to chase and obtain the components required to deliver on tasks. Ability to provide effective communication via meetings and night letters to powertrain team members at all levels. Ability to produce and update tracker identifying key information and sign off. Support and implementation of efficiency, effectiveness and process improvements. Direct involvement in Health and Safety activity; including ensuring that HandS procedure is adhered to, delivery of risk and COSHH assessments in support of powertrain activity.
Experience Preferred:
Engine / powertrain development or calibration knowledge and experience. Fault finding, diagnosis and rectification on facility and powertrain systems. Deliver drawings and layouts in 3D and/or 2D CAD. Catia/AutoCAD.
Education Required:
HNC, HND in Mechanical Engineering discipline.
Education Preferred:
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, e.g. Mechanical Engineering.
