An Exhaust Systems Engineer is required to work on contract for our large automotive client based in Dunton, Essex
Description
Our client is a leading OEM at the prestige end of the automotive market and has a passion for better ideas, whether pushing the limits of technology and design or bringing people together within a community.
They are now looking for an Exhaust Systems Engineer to take responsibility for component design and release within one of the following subsystem area: Engineer within team that designs, develops, verifies, and releases these components. Provide leadership/direction to externally purchased engineering services and component suppliers. Ensure that all program, commodity and design objectives are fulfilled and that all design changes are reviewed, approved, and documented.
Job Requirements
Define requirements & targets with regard to quality, function, cost, timing, weight, and recycle ability. Ensure all requirements are met. Manage sub system sub system interfaces to ensure continued compatibility with other systems and overall system performance. Develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP). Ensure timely validation and sign-off for subsystem content - ensuring adequate specifications are defined and verification is conducted to prevent product nonconformity. Support prototype build and support prototype sign-off. Manage product changes and containment during all build phases. Ensure that target agreements, TVM targets, SoW, etc. are delivered in time. Work with all departments to ensure optimum design and integration of the subsystem components into the vehicle and to ensure manufacturing and service requirements are met.

Skills Required:
Proven track record of delivery in one of the sub system areas Self motivated with excellent team and leadership skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver within program constraints.
Skills Preferred:
The successful candidate may be required to travel regularly to support product launches and liaise with suppliers.
Experience Required:
Experience in leading teams. Prior sub system design and release experience and familiarity with WERS, AIMS, eQOS, eFDVS, etc.
Experience Preferred:
Experience in vehicle evaluation of installed Powertrain attributes beneficial.
Education Required:
Science or Mechanical Engineering degree required.
