Our client is a World renowned manufacturer of luxury sports cars; its name is well known and needs little introduction. The sports cars will continue to be hand-built and bespoke but the company also use the latest high technology processes and leading edge disciplines in a very modern environment. It is profitable, growing in a rapid but controlled manner and moving into new global markets. As a result it is seeking to add to the Body Engineering team to ensure the continued delivery of world class Restraint Systems.
To lead the safety restraints development, design and release across all programs to ensure all targets and legislative requirements are met.

  • Define component level targets (from legal requirements, OEM (SDS), SAE, industry standard practice).
  • Lead a team to deliver restraints system components. Take ownership for the development and release of all vehicle restraints (airbags, seatbelts, steering wheel, restraint electronics etc) across all VH platform vehicles and Cygnet.
  • Lead the management of external suppliers to deliver all program targets.
  • Control the component DVP and supplier DandD tests for restraints components (ongoing control/review)
  • Ensure failure avoidance tools and processes (DFMEA/FMA etc) are applied to restraint components
  • Lead the financial management of supplier DandD and tooling budgets to ensure that they deliver on time, within quality targets and within budget.
  • Lead Restraints PMST.
  • Ensure engineering releases are completed to highest quality and on time
  • Ensure restraint related concerns are resolved to the highest quality and on time
  • Own the engineering signoff/approval of component/subsystem performance

    A minimum of 5 years experience in Vehicle Safety Restraint Systems engineering is preferred.
    Engineering degree (or equivalent).
    Experience of leadership or clear evidence of leadership ability.
    Clear knowledge of fundamental engineering theory.
    Evidence of enthusiasm for the role
    Excellent organisational skills.
    Self starting and self motivated.
