Our Client is a leading supplier of hot finished and cold formed steel products to the construction, engineering, energy, automotive and precision tubing markets. With manufacturing sites and sales offices in the UK and other European countries, they can offer highly focused customer service by providing customers with competitive, quality products.

They are looking for a Design Draughter on a short term contract to join the existing team and work specifically on a bespoke product. It is envisage the work will initially be for a couple of months The role will cover:

To specify the drive design for a bend rotation mechanism

Design of suitable structural support to enable the safe manipulation of bend assemblies

Specification of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment

Selection of appropriate materials and optimising stock material sizes

Communication with suppliers to ensure all materials and equipment specified are available.

Design engineering of overall assembly

Detail drawing of individual components

Construction of Bill of Materials for completed machine

Qualified to HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.

Experienced in the operation of AutoCAD Lite

Use of Excel and MS Word

Able to perform engineering calculations for:

• Design of torque and power requirements for a drive mechanism
• Structural design and load bearing
• Clamping and frictional loads
