Designers and manufacturers of Ruggedized Equipment since 1975, the company has developed a range of products specifically designed for use in areas where harsh environmental conditions prevail and where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of flammable atmospheres.

They are now looking to appoint a Business Improvement Champion. This role will encompass responsibility for the Company's Lean implementation to ensure that manufacturing processes are developed to achieve aggressive cost down and quality improvement targets.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive lean implementation to deliver cost performance, visual factory and standardisation
  • Managing the planning, facilitation and completion of MVP and manufacturing systems projects which will deliver 3% in annual cost savings.
  • Implement strategic plans to improve capacity and schedule attainment performance
  • Facilitate kaizen events to deliver quick hit improvement activities

    Scope
  • Reports to the Operations Manager
  • Responsible for Cooper MEDC technical lean and six sigma strategy and leadership
  • Delivers significant cost productivity via various routes

    Experience and Educational Requirements:
  • Ideally degree educated but individuals qualified by experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role

    Skills and Experience
  • Proven lean and continuous improvement implementation experience
  • A proven track record in the application of six sigma methods to business improvement (Ideally Six Sigma Black Belt Certified, but full training available).
  • Technical Expertise: Serves as a subject matter expert in the methodology and discipline of Six Sigma
  • Possess a practical approach to problem solving
  • Application of G8D problem solving methodology
  • Excellent PC Skills
  • Able to drive process change and development in a demanding environment
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience of lean implementation in a manufacturing environment
