A Lubrication Engineer is required to work for a large automotive client based in Dagenham, Essex.

Description
Position Description:
Responsible for component design and release within lubrication. Engineer within team that designs, develops, verifies, and releases these components. Provide leadership/direction to externally purchased engineering services and component suppliers. Ensure that all program, commodity and design objectives are fulfilled and that all design changes are reviewed, approved, and documented. Define requirements & targets with regard to quality, function, cost, timing, weight, and recycle ability. Ensure all requirements are met. Manage sub system interfaces to ensure continued compatibility with other systems and overall system performance. Develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP).

Job Requirements
Ensure timely validation and sign-off for subsystem content - ensuring adequate specifications are defined and verification is conducted to prevent product nonconformity. Support prototype build and support prototype sign-off. Manage product changes and containment during all build phases. Ensure that target agreements, TVM targets, SoW, etc are delivered in time. Work with all departments to ensure optimum design and integration of the subsystem components into the vehicle and to ensure manufacturing and service requirements are met. Ensure the system complies with legal, safety, program, and design intent. Maintaining Quality Tools/Records for the subsystem components. Evaluate and implement TVM proposals with TVM team and supplier. Resolve OPD quality issues with PVT team - includes white alert investigations and QSFs. Establish, verify and implement corrective actions and progress actions to prevent the recurrence of these quality concerns. Support program drive events. Support low cost country sourcing. Support commodity business plans. Support pre-program investigations.

Skills Required:
Proven track record of delivery in one of the sub system areas. Self motivated with excellent team and leadership skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver within program constraints.

Experience Required:
Experience in leading teams. Experience or education in Engine Engineering.

Education Required:
Science or Mechanical Engineering degree required. Candidates may be in final year of Degree course and able to demonstrate potential to achieve a 2:1 or 1st Class Honours.

Additional Information:
The successful candidate may be required to travel regularly to support product launches and liaise with suppliers.
