Identify future diagnostic and repair software requirements based on future product designs. Be a point-of-contact into DSP-E for PD diagnostic and repair related queries, in line with agreed functional responsibility areas. Understand and interpret the data contained within various global engineering documentation including Part II specifications, vehicle programs statement of work and functional specifications, to develop innovative new approaches to diagnostics and repair procedures for release into the service environment. Assist the development of Part II specifications, service module replacement and update strategies and FTAs (e.g. attendance of PD workshops, supplier reviews, and sign-offs events). Understand module/system/subsystem function and operation for the respective responsibility area. Work with PD/ FCSD upstream to establish the list of diagnostic and repair applications required, for the agreed functional areas, for new programs and sub-systems. Ensure DSP-E timescales are fully conveyed to PD/FCSD upstream areas for diagnostic and repair delivery.

Skills Required:
Vehicle level working experience. Automotive electronic control system knowledge. Good level of electronic/electrical engineering competency required. Good communication skills. Project/Program management skills.

Experience Required:
Component specification or diagnostic specification development experience. Working knowledge of authoring environments, Grade-X OTX, Odyssey, and XML Programming etc. Knowledge of communication protocols including SCP, CAN, KWP2000, and GGDS 002 and 003. Knowledge of vehicle development process (OEM or Supplier).

Experience Preferred:
Software design and development experience desirable. High level of computer literacy and database experience desirable.

Education Required:
Educated to degree level, in a relevant field or subject, is desirable.
