Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.

In support of clients expectation, they are currently seeking to recruit an Interior Packaging Engineer to lead and contribute to the timely delivery of exciting new models within the portfolio of new projects.

The Interior Packaging Engineer role is of significant importance in packaging and developing a new vehicle in support of our client's requirements. The packaging exercise is one the key elements in making the whole programme a success.

It will involve looking at an existing Package, components and elements with a clear mandate to develop and where required change the package in order deliver a robust design going forward that will support the vehicles attributes and performance.

The successful candidate will need to work very prescriptively within various processes and protocols of the client company whilst drawing upon and utilising their own design skills in order to make this a success.

Working with the Design Leader, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of elements of a new vehicle interior package to support our client's requirements.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Highly proficient CAD user with 3D visualisation.
* Experienced in the use of Visual mock up.
* Expertise in Catia V5 and (ideally) TCe trained with good visualisation and engineering skills.
* Previous experience in vehicle interior packaging.
* Good visualisation and engineering skills covering either body or interior trim.
* Good understanding of the sub system elements and their interactions
* Good communicator whilst being comfortable working with a number of different teams and the client.
* Objective driven with ability to focus on the solutions rather than just the problem
* Working level understanding of Microsoft based systems ( MS office suite etc)
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Understanding of risk management
* Confident in making data driven decisions
* Happy to work in a flexible way to support the delivery of the overall objectives

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

* Can demonstrate a working knowledge of the concept and packaging process covering a variety of vehicle systems such as body, IP, console, seating, door casings, headlining, trim etc
* Experienced in working with other design teams to ensure integration and package requirements are met.
* Worked and operated within an engineering and/or manufacturing environment within either the automotive or aerospace industries
* Experienced in running or contributing to packaging meetings and presenting conflicts and solutions.
* Can demonstrate a flexible approach to the way they work
* Experienced at dealing with engineering conflict whilst remaining delivery focused
* Used to working within a highly productive team
* Used to working with limited supervision
* Experience of using Ford or JLR based design processes and protocols
* Working knowledge of OEM and automotive development requirements
* Good standard of education and learning relevant to the role, ideally at degree level
