This role forms part of the Assembly Maintenance Team and is primarily responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance on the assembly line to ensure production delivery. The firm we are working with is a very busy Tier 1 automotive supplier and the role is shift based. You'll need to have experience of maintenance within a high volume environment, ideally in automotive (automated assembly processes), PLC capability (although not programming) and robotics and any experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is very desirable.

A degree is not a pre requisite for this role but you must be qualified to at least ONC level (Mechanical or Electrical bias).

Effectively communicate with process operatives to ensure route cards and data cards are fully understood and workable.
To design and procure tooling in aid of production activity or improvement work. Liaise as required with Tooling Vendors.
To communicate and report to customers problems of a technical nature supporting Customer Services as required.
Plan and scope project work within set time scales and liaise directly with customers reporting on status and actions.
Produce technical reports as required during interim phases and at completion of project work.
To market and represent the company at customer technical meetings and conferences etc.
Assume all other responsibilities within your capabilities as determined with the Engineering Manager and liaise with other members of the Engineering Team to further the overall performance of the company.

Main Resposibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the Quality System
- Develop and maintain measures of performance for the quality department
- Deal with customer quality issues, including investigation and corrective action activities
- Liaise with Operations and Engineering on quality related matters
- Carry out internal and external product, process and systems audits
- Host customer and regulatory audits and visits

Essential:
- Experience as a quality engineer within a manufacturing environment
- Experience of problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action tools and techniques
- Experience of working within at least an ISO9001 approved organisation, ideally an AS9100 approved organisation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with customers, both internal and external
- A self-motivated approach and a proactive attitude.
- Experience of internal and supplier auditing

Desireable Exprience:
- Experience within an aerospace environment
- Lead auditor qualification
- Experience of EASA Part 145 / FAR145 regulations within a repair and overhaul environment
- Well-versed in the tools and techniques associated with Lean and Six Sigma.
