Client is a leading supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components for all of the world"s major automakers.

We are currently seeking to recruit an ITS Infotainment Electronics Engineer on a 12 month contract basis.

The role is predominantly based in the open-plan department in the Coventry office, although during the development and validation phase of the project cycle, 30-50% of the time will be spent at the customer's site.

Regular travel to customer sites and occasional travel to other branch offices is required. Occasional travel to international technical meetings, conferences, and workshop may also be required.

Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, the individual will be responsible for supporting the design and development of solutions for a major infotainment project.

This will include:

* Supporting hardware / electronics design
* Analyzing customer requirements
* Writing and maintaining electronics design specifications
* Testing prototype and production components
* Continuously developing technical and personal capabilities.

Other Duties:

* Implement short-term plans, report progress and propose recovery / improvement options.
* Identify design and implementation issue, propose and gain approval for countermeasures.
* Identify and propose future strategic options for technology, services and products.
* Efficient use of available resources to progress work successfully.
* Benchmarking and proposing new processes or equipment to improve efficiency.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Microelectronics or related Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience in a production-oriented role (get product out on time)
* Experience of quality management processes
* Experience of design and delivery of electronic system components / requirements / product, design to cost, EMC/EMI robustness design, analysis experience, e.g. FMEA, 8D, FTA.
* General office PC (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint), PCB design tools (e.g. OrCAD)
* Analytical approach to problems, data.
* Communicates clearly and confidently.
* Friendly and approachable, happy to work in a consensus-based environment.
* Manages stressful timescales well.
* Full driving license, willing and able to travel within the EU at short notice, occasional weekend working, early starts, unsocial hours.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:

* Specific training / qualification / experience in infotainment or similar complex electronics design and development.
* VHDL, low-level ICE for hardware debugging
* Working with remote / 3rd party design teams, small-scale PCB hand-building / modification for prototyping
* Experience of RF tuner technologies.
* Good use of information to build and present appoint of view.
* Interest in Electronics, gadgets, cars
