Our client designs and manufactures aerostructures for both the civil and military aerospace markets.
In this role you will lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers (currently there are 50 Engineers on site) working in the machine shop; you must have demonstrable experience of managing an Assembly team. This role will be based on NPI from resourcing to DFM and to the finished product; a design background would be ideal as your input at the early stage can recommend how the product is best suited for it`s purpose.

They need a person with strong process/production experience and significant experience in continuous improvement (Green Belt qualified is preferable) as well as some form of business systems usage (MRP in particular). This is a role than will allow you to working the way you see most beneficial and lead a well performing team; you`ll impart knowledge in order to drive productivity improvements (quality driven) and adopt necessary change.
The company are looking for a degree educated person (Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering) with a background in assembly techniques including pick and place and robotics. You will need to be comfortable initiating new ideas and change and have the ability to supervise/mentor staff through the changes.

This is a permanent role with an immediate start; the salary is to be confirmed at submission stage and the firm offer excellent benefits also.
