V5 Engineer - Chassis Clash Detection

£26.10 - 26.10 per hour
The role involves concept feasibility followed by design and package feasibility including clash detection. The role covers all suspension components as well as sub-frames, brakes, wheels and tyres.
Skills Required:
Use Catia V5 CAD and TCe (Teamcentre) to carry out geometrical package studies, clash detection, generating static and dynamic clearance envelopes with the objective of creating a feasible set of components in the target vehicle package. Meet the project virtual series gateway requirements of releasing and freezing geometrical designs. Work closely with the Vehicle Packaging and functional component areas to ensure component feasibility as well as ensuring all interfacing part owners buy into any changes.
Skills Preferred:
Parametric and kinematic modelling skills. Knowledge of suspension designs.
Experience Required:
Catia V5 user (expert level, typically 3+ years use) and TCe user would be an advantage (training available if required).
Experience Preferred:
Use of CAD based FEA tools for basic strength and stiffness analysis and experience of Catia parametric and kinematics and experience of systems integration, especially Chassis systems in a CAD environment. Experience of vehicle packaging and sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles with a good working knowledge of chassis systems.
Education Required:
Should have relevant degree qualification.
