Based on a very attractive University campus, this Centre of Excellence is building on its growing reputation for Electric Vehicle (EV) development. Established in 2005 its enjoys the continued support of its parent company in India, with ongoing investment in EV technologies.
Battery technology RandD is a fundamental activity at the Centre and this has created an opportunity for a talented Manufacturing Process Development Engineer. This role will be the focal point for the development of materials and joining technologies enabling the automated manufacture of batteries and control systems. Working with colleagues in Product Development the job will develop materials and methodologies adopting a 6 sigma approach including the derivation of Development Verification Plans DVP to ensure fitness for purpose. UK based with the occasional need to travel overseas.
Candidate requirements:
- Masters or PhD in Materials Science
- An in-depth understanding of materials and joining technologies, including welding, applied to polymers, composites, metallic`s.
- A minimum of 3 years industry experience of materials and process development
