A leading pharmaceutical company is now looking for an Instrument Engineer to work on long term contract basis in Cumbria

As the Instrument Engineer the primary task will be the compilation and import of data to a new Hazardous Area Inspection System (a proprietary data management system provided by others - training will be given).

In a set Excel spreadsheet format, the data will be compiled from a number of sources namely:
The legacy Hazardous Area Database
Other local databases and IO lists
Instrument loop/connection drawings
Installed equipment on site

Specific Skills Required:
Basic IT skills (including Microsoft Excel)
A knowledge of process measurement and control
Ability to read and interpret instrument loop and connection drawings and engineering line diagrams
A working knowledge of electrical installations in potentially explosive atmospheres to include:
Principles of hazardous area classification.
ATEX / CENELEC coding system.
Installation requirements of various method of explosion protection, particularly Intrinsic Safety (Exi) but also including Increased Safety (Exe), Flameproof (Exd) and Pressurised Apparatus (Exp).
Inspection requirements of BS EN 60079-17: 2007 Explosive atmospheres - electrical installations inspection and maintenance.

Other tasks may include the general instrument project engineering within a project team on another client site.
