This role is a very key role for the firm we are working with, you will be managing the warehouse as an entity with responsibility for 11 staff members over the 20,000 square foot facility in Northampton. It will incorporate the successful running of the in-house WMS (no implementation experience required) in an RF environment operating in a very fast paced pick/pack warehouse, the firm have been established in the UK for 9 years and distribute worldwide from this facility.

The staff you will be responsible for are made up of order pickers (warehouse staff), quality technicians (goods inwards and product quality), administration staff and a supervisor. A pre requisite for this role is previous experience in a similar role as this is a high end management role, you must be very team orientated, personable and have experience of working to KPI's. The company have an ethos of expanding at a natural rate and operate a cautious approach to new business, they have a new product entering the market approximately every 2 days and their catalogue spans over 2,500 products.

Our client is an aerospace and defence focused business looking for an enthusiastic Bid Support Engineer / Bid Manager to work with both design engineering and business development teams. We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with recent exposure to proposal/bid writing in a commercial environment.  Understanding of a systems engineering approach, EMC and PCB layout is required in order to liaise with design teams from a commercial perspective.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in the development of existing and new markets, and new applications of the Company’s technology

- Develop the bid strategy and manage the bid process, the preparation of proposals and quotations in response to customers’ requirements

- Develop and run customer demonstrations that focus on user benefits

- Conduct internal and customer training programmes including course development and delivery

- Maintain and build relationships with a range of contacts including government procurement agencies, prime contractors and distributors to position the Company’s products for future requirements

- Working closely with the Company’s engineers in the technical assessment of new business opportunities, influencing the direction of new product research and development following analysis of market place

- Provide technical and cost data to Sales & Marketing Managers during bid preparation

Essential Skills

- Understanding of EMC and PCB layout and have a knowledge of IP management

- Understanding of requirements capture, ideally DOORS, and analysis

- Experience of safety critical systems and design processes

- Understanding of a systems engineering approach

- Knowledge of component selection and circuit design to interface processors/microcontrollers to digital networks, digital and analogue signals

- Experience of full life cycle design

- Understanding of product verification plans and procedures to allow detailed integration and verification activities

- Where possible, Shipley Proposal Management trained

- Confidence to capture, develop and translate customer requirements into manageable sub-system and product requirement

We are working with a leading OEM easily accessible from the M6 who are looking to recruit a number of CNC Programmers/Setters/Operators to work in their industry leading facilities. Working in their new engine plant, you'll be working on a new engine for one of the most iconic and famous cars in the world.

You must have the following:
- An experienced Miller/Turner who has worked in the precision machining environments (ideally micron tolerances) on up to 5 axis machining centres
- Use of Siemens controls (840D), programming experience (3, 4 or 5 axis) would be very beneficial regardless of level
- NVQ Level 3 educated or apprentice trained and time served

The role is due to massive expansion of the site and the start date for the roles are January 2013, they have the rest of this year to interview candidates and to appoint. The salary for this role is just under £25,000 per annum plus shift allowance, pension, bonus, company car scheme and healthcare , please note the role is on shifts and you will be required to work nights.
