Proving Ground Operations Supervisor
Warwickshire, England

Our client is a leading independent provider of product engineering, research, testing information and certification to the worldwide automotive industry and is based in Warwickshire.

A new permanent opportunity has arisen for a Proving Ground Operations Supervisor. Reporting to the Proving Ground Manager, the individual will be responsible for the following:

- Safe operation of the Proving Ground (Safety Co-Coordinator)
- Assist with the development of new business
- Liaison with both internal and external engineers, in order to establish new test and operating procedures and ensuring that all Heath and Safety criterion are met
- Liaison with external companies in regard to the organisation of corporate events, vehicle launches, demonstrations etc
- Management of events including motorsport activities
- The development of key staff enabling them to become effective members of the Track Control function
- Customer liaison with regard to establishing new testing procedures
- Weekly planning of Proving Ground Staffing levels
- Work closely with internal Dept Project Managers ensuring continuity of projects and managing internal external demand for facilities.
- Deputise for the Proving Ground Manager in his absence including the supervision of Track Control Operations and ensuring safe and effective loading of facilities
- The Management of Proving Ground based events
- Carry out supervision of administrative duties in respect of customer invoicing and account management.


Essential Requirements:

- Excellent Communication Skills
- Ideally HNC/City and Guilds in engineering or appropriate subjects or equivalent
- GCSE English A - C Grade or equivalent
- Good PC based skills
- Driving Licence
- Evidence of experience working in a supervisory capacity.
- Recent experience of current Health and Safety procedures/ policies, required for the safe operation of an industrial site
- Flexibility to work extended hours and possibly weekends as required to support the programme.

Desirable Attributes:

- First Aid at Work
- Working within a busy vehicle test or similar engineering function
- Automotive Engineering background
- Understanding of vehicle systems, components and testing
- Experience of running corporate events
