Composite Design Lead - A350
Southampton, Hampshire, England
Our client designs and manufactures aerostructures for both the civil and military aerospace markets. They are currently seeking a Lead Composite Design Engineer, based at the Hampshire site.
In this role you will act as a technical lead on the design of composite sub assemblies and components for the A350XWB wing trailing edge. You will be a recognised technical expert, engaged in hands on design work for this exciting new aircraft development program.
Working as part of a team, design components and sub assemblies which ensure structural integrity of an airframe product.
Responsible for the delivery of design schemes and detail drawings through the Design Review process, working in conjunction with other technical departments, manufacturing, suppliers and, the customer.
Design estimates and bid preparation.
Technically liaise with current and new project participants, supply base and other sub-contract organisations and individuals.
Design support to Manufacturing by clearing day to day problems
Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives, the development of personnel and design processes.
Mentor and develop graduate engineers in composite design and aircraft structural design
