We are recruiting for 2x Section Managers on a permanent contract based in Country Durham.
As Section Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Monitor and improve all Safety aspects in his/her area, eliminating any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean production environment.
* Responsible for supervision, training, coaching, motivation, direction and development of personnel. Required to develop objectives and goals, along with the team, to support the Business and promote continuous improvement.
* Produces product to meet quality standards while maintaining cost.
* Hold regular Process Improvement Dialogues that are supportive, open and honest, and centred on People, Quality, Velocity and Cost. * Ensure clear visibility and understanding of key metrics and progress to targets.
* Co-ordinates activities with other functional areas of the operation, to ensure the efficient, accurate and timely achievement of contractual standards. This may include working extended hours, including weekends to meet schedules and production requirements.
* Determines overtime need, determines priorities when resources are insufficient, and decides when disciplinary action is necessary.
Skills and Experience Required
* A background in a Manufacturing / Assembly / Logistics environment with an up to date knowledge of good manufacturing principles and practices to drive continuous improvement. A relevant bachelors degree would be an advantage.
* A Team Player, with good human relations skills to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department. With a recommended 2-3 years of experience leading or supervising teams.
* Must possess excellent leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to act decisively and make decisions under pressure.
* Be able to actively listen with effective communication skills, both Oral and Written.
* Ability to identify the Root Cause and corrective action for issues in area, assign accountability, and track progress to resolution.
* Ability to effectively analyse data in order to manage performance/ understand trends and align targets.
* A conscientious worker with a flexible attitude and willing to work any shift.
* Must have good PC skills i.e. good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
