This is a permanent or contract position reporting to the Engineering Manager.  As Project Engineer-Robot Weld you will be responsible for co-ordinating cradle to grave engineering activity within an automotive body in white welding environment.  You will be expected to co-ordinate internal and external resource to achieve all project objectives and to manage/report status of cost, quality and timing for assigned projects.  You must understand modern safety standards and ensure that contractors are designing new equipment in line with this and also that contractors are operating safely whilst on company premises.

Experience of writing software from base is essential and experience of Mitsubishi A&Q Series controllers is desirable (demonstration of capability via alternative PLCs (Omron, Siemens etc) is acceptable.  It is also essential you have experience of interfacing with industry standard devices (ie Robots, Safety Systems) and the ability to program robots is desirable as is a previous track record of successful major project delivery and understanding modern automotive joning techniques and interface screens.  It is also essential you are able to set direction for achieving project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a faced paced manufacturing engineering environment programming robotic weld machines from base.
