A Mechanical Design Engineer is required for a UK leading Testing Technology company based in Malvern.

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is working exclusively with CP Engineering Systems Ltd to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for their Engine and Vehicle Test Facility in Malvern (Worcestershire). Following continued company growth within the automotive arena and it's acquirement by Sierra Instruments in 2011, our client is now looking to recruit an experienced Engineer that will report directly in to the Engineering Manager and help deliver projects and manufacturing excellence across the company.

The role:

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager you will be supporting cross functions across the business. Your core responsibility will be to create 3D models using Solid Works Professional 2012. Within these designs you will be required to:

- To prepare concept designs to support sales activities.
- Produce detailed assembly and part models.
- Produce fully detailed and appropriately geometrically tolerance top level assembly drawings, sub assembly drawings and component drawings.
- To validate designs using finite element analysis.

You will be responsible for completing and storing detailed analytical calculation on fluid systems, heat energy transfer systems, vibrating and rotating systems. Working within tight cost and time parameters to deliver highly innovative and cost effective designs.

This person will be supporting Senior Management in the implementation and application of procedures and processes pursuant to the medium and long term goals of the business.

The person:

Degree qualified in either Mechanical or Automotive Engineering you will have a proven ability to create 3D modelling designs (ideally in Solid Works however will consider other design packages i.e. Pro-Engineer).
You must have an understanding of "Fluid Systems" with the ability to produce schematic diagrams and carry out analytical calculations on multi-functional products.
A full understanding of geometric tolerancing coupled with the ability to recognise how and when to apply relevant tolerances.
