Battery Management Systems (BMS) Engineer - Vehicle Technology - North East
Northumberland, England

A Hybrid Engineer with BMS (Battery Management System) design, calibration and applications engineering experience is required in one or more of the following areas:

-Battery management system (BMS) design, calibration and applications engineering
-Integration of EV and HEV systems, defining sub-system components and interfaces, dealing with vehicle CAN, safety features etc. for controllers, power electronics and energy storage and management devices
-Control system design and development, including strategy definition, writing and compiling of C-code and/ or the use of rapid prototyping tools for control systems
-Range extender / Auxiliary Power Unit system design, control development and system optimisation
-Project and people management, coupled with excellent commercial competency

Ideally the Battery Management Systems (BMS) / Hybrid Engineer will have knowledge/experience in:

-Electronics / embedded system design and validation
-Battery pack design
-Power electronics design
-Motor design and development
-Simulation of complete vehicle and sub-systems
-Data collection, analysis and reporting
-Customer proposal and RandD grant bid writing experience
-Safety case development and processes
-Robust engineering techniques and processes

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding low carbon vehicle technology company based in the North East. The company has a fully equipped research and development facility and a highly skilled team of engineers and technicians with expertise in all the major areas of technology required for a low emission vehicle and powertrain development.

This is a permanent position however a contractor would also be considered.
