A EMS Software Project Engineer/Manager is required to work for our Client on a long term contract.
The position will be based in the West Midlands.
Position Description:
-Be responsible for the delivery of EMS (Engine Management Systems) systems to new vehicle programmes.
-Liaise with the core engineering team and vehicle programme teams to agree system targets (quality, function, cost, weight) and define system content.
-Work with core engineering Team, Suppliers and internal Customers to manage delivery of the EMS system on time to agreed targets and within budget. (Investment, resource and DandD).
-Manage quality planning activities including FMEA and Quality History Review.
-Report project status and ensure compliance with all GPDS, SDS, FDVS and APQP requirements.
-Work effectively with the EMS supplier to deliver production releases and engineering sign-off.
-Be responsible for target setting and overall compilation of the Design Verification Plan to deliver Engineering sign-off.
Skills Required:
-Software specification and testing in automotive environments, ideally EMS related.
-Good project management, negotiation and communication skills.
-Excellent Supplier liaison, communication and management skills.
-Proven record of project leadership and delivery of SW functionality to meet cost and performance / attribute targets.
-Self motivated, enthusiastic and a good team player.
-Must be highly motivated and able to foster good working relationships with Customers. Experience of component or system delivery.
-Systems engineering for Electronics Good analytical skills and PC literate.
-Strong understanding and application of Design quality tools (DFMEA, Robustness, etc).
-Good working knowledge of the OEM project delivery and change management systems, PCS, eFDVS, AIMS, WERS.
-Full Driving licence
Skills Preferred:
-Green Belt trained.
-Experience with EMS software specifications / mechanisations.
-Knowledge of EMS Systems and tailpipe emissions standards. Matlab / Simulink data measurement and analysis.
Experience Required:
Experience with automotive hardware delivery, ideally Powertrain related.
Education Required:
Degree qualified.
