An Operational Project Buyer is required to work on either a permanent or contract basis for this Global Automotive Engineering Group to manage and monitor all operational supplier issues in line with Group Purchasing policy.
The role of Buyer will incorporate the following duties.
Prevent and manage supplier delivery disruptions after escalation from logistics.
Negotiate with suppliers optimal logistics parameters for keeping optimal cost level.
Communicate with commodity teams in case of important commercial changes.
Purchasing administration on ERP, issue and manage the PO (including intercompany).
Prepare, coordinate and distribute plant annual purchasing budget and its updates for rolling forecasts.
Report KPI data needed for the monthly reporting.
Ensure supplier selection from the approved supplier list, identify in accordance with the commodity buyer, and consult suppliers.
New Product Introduction process (NPI).
Requirements
As the Project Buyer you will be educated to degree level or relevant qualification, with proven experience in procurement and dealing with direct material into manufacturing operations.
You will have previous experience in purchasing a variety of components made from various materials including metal, plastics and rubber.
You will also have a commercial background with excellent negotiation skills and an appreciation of European economics.
Must have a full driving license and be able to travel internationally as and when required.
