A Composites Material Test Engineer is required across several major vehicle developments within a market leading design/manufacture of high end luxury/SUV/off-road vehicles based in the West Midlands.

This role is part of an exciting new expansion of the team to meet increasing materail development demands with the launch of future lightweight models

You will have knowledge and experience with,

-Generation of materials, testing and engineering specifications to support activities
-Development test work via the Gaydon and Paint Lab facilities
-Input into problem resolution activities relating to materials in both prototype and production phases.
-Project management of materials research and development projects
-Material/manufacturer sourcing responsibility
-Materials benchmarking of competitors products Cost-down opportunities (TVM)
-Liaison with material and component suppliers.
-Raise awareness of environmental issues related to materials/recycling and implement strategies.

Skills Required:
-Sound knowledge of materials properties relevant to vehicle architecture
-Awareness of material manufacturing techniques.
-Awareness of material testing methodologies Pro-active individual, good communicator and effective leader.
-Strong decision maker, Strong Team Player Effective IT skills Word (Report writing), PowerPoint (Results presentations)
-Interest in and awareness of - current economic, technological factors and their relation to OEM
-Ability to develop and communicate creative new concepts/ideas based on market trends and customer knowledge.
-A good level of analytical ability Broad Automotive product development processes

Experience Required:
Experience of Composites design, specification and manufacture required in either Academic or Commercial environment. Full training will be given on OEM systems.

Education Required:
Candidates shall be educated to a minimum of degree level
