Do you enjoy a challenge and being able to work in a dynamic, focused manufacturing environment?  If so, we are seeking a Senior Production Engineer who will be responsible for providing leadership to the Production Engineering team within a forging and machining organisation.  As Senior Production Engineer, you will work with precision manufactured Medical and Aerospace components for a Global Group. The Senior Production Engineer is very much principal to ensure the successful solution to production problems as well as manufacturing process improvement.

You will be responsible for:

• Manufacturing engineering
• Solution of day-to-day manufacturing problems in support of operations
• Validation and regulatory issues
• Machining process development in association with Development Engineering
• Machining method design and programming for fixture manufacture
• Communication with Customers’ representatives on technical issues
• Continuous improvement – evaluation of existing methods to determine more efficient, cost effective approaches
• Develop engineering expertise in support of other manufacturing sections (Forging & Casting)
• Support allocation of resources to meet the demands of projects
• Monitoring progress and reporting on progress of exiting and NPI projects
• Maintain records of engineering activity and develop feedback systems to improve on development performance – including maintaining HR records
• Contributing to and leading meetings
• Working as required within project timescales, and reporting risks, issues and exceptions

For this role, you will be expected to have the following:

• A good level of engineering qualification with a degree preferred
• Working experience of precision machining and tooling
• Supervisory exposure
• Project management and lean skills wherever possible
