My client is a leading clean power systems company. Their proprietary clean fuel and clean power technologies provide solutions to the difficult environmental and energy supply challenges being faced by governments and industry.

They are now looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to apply electrical and electronic engineering design and prototype build skills in the development of design of modular stacks and systems.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Use a degree of innovation and technical judgement to interpret programme manager requirements and devise appropriate solutions for novel and complex problems.
  • Understand resource requirements, risk and technical quality to ensure delivery of effective solutions
  • Operate change management during engineering drawing updates to ensure configuration control is maintained and best practice/lessons learned are shared effectively amongst peers
  • Provide feedback to line manager and peers on appropriate software, analytical and IT tools for the job and recognise possible training requirements
  • Work with Programme Managers to deliver acceptable designs and solutions
  • Apply safe and reliable design to products and systems with particular interest in electrical safety and EMC
  • Aid in the timing and scheduling of new programmes with peers and colleagues
  • Understand any standard tests and acceptance criteria for stacks, systems and key components relevant to the design to ensure effective delivery
  • Support Research team in the application of blue sky concepts in end-user systems Qualifications
  • Essential is a degree or higher in Electrical/electronic Engineering supplemented with a post graduate qualification or relevant industrial experience. Alternatively non-degree with over 12 years of relevant industry experience. Desirable would be a higher level qualification

An opportunity has arisen for a Fitter to work with a world leader in complete, advanced technology propeller systems. Our clients all composite bladed, electronically controlled propeller systems have been selected for over 80% of the major turboprop aircraft in the last 10 years, and they are working with internationally renowned aircraft manufacturers on many key programmes.
The main responsibility of the Fitter role is to test and, where applicable, survey and refurbish Control units for both the Civil and Military aftermarket. Ensuring adherence to a high standard of EHS and Quality policies and procedures. The Fitter will also be responsible for Repair and Overhaul propellers in line with CMM requirements. Repair and Overhaul of ancillary units , hand salvage of repaired items. Salvage machining of propeller parts. Construct accurate traceability records of assemblies. Calibration of rigs and associated equipment. Accurate and timely production of work documentation. Initiate and Participate in continual process improvements to drive safety and throughput.
You will be time served with City and Guilds or Modern Apprenticeship with HNC. Alternatively an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant Engineering discipline. Be self-disciplined, cooperative manner with a capacity to work in a multi product environment. Have high level of Health and Safety awareness. You will ideally have experiences in fitting and hand salvage skills, experience in setting and operating machines and previous experience in assembly build and Strip Reporting

They are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to implement process and product improvements primarily within engineering and operations, through the application of appropriate quality improvement techniques. Key Accountabilities

  • Work with design, engineering and operations departments to ensure that specifications are established for components and products that are appropriate for fit form and function requirements.
  • Support Research and Technology and engineering in optimising experiments for evaluating the effects of design changes and component variability on product performance.
  • Carry out and document investigations into non conforming products and processes and implement effective corrective actions, working with suppliers where appropriate.
  • Work within programme delivery teams to identify process improvement opportunities and effectively resolve issues by root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • As befits an organisation of the size and entrepreneurial spirit of the Group, perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned or required by the Group. Qualifications An appropriate level of science or engineering qualification is essential. Training in statistical methods for process improvement and/or in general quality improvement techniques is highly desirable.

    Experience
  • Practical application of quality improvement techniques, preferably within an engineering environment, with proven record of achieving results in improving products and processes is essential
  • Familiarity with a range of test and measuring equipment, for general engineering products, and practical experience in measurement and test methods is highly desirable
  • Practical experience in the use of appropriate statistical methods for data analysis and in the efficient use of experiments to collect data is essential
